Who is Re Harrisson?

I’m a writer. I enjoy the challenge of each story, especially figuring out how to fit the words together like puzzle pieces. When the words align right, I’m proud to hand you a story readers understand and relate to.
I’m a nerd. I get geeked out with each new project. What’s not to love about discovering new knowledge? I’m happiest immersing myself in everything from enterprise architecture to the functioning of a continent's electric grids. Each new customer is a new adventure.
By the way: Re is pronounced ‘Ray.’
The Pathway Here (or 20 odd years of life experience in three paragraphs)
I moved to Germany back in ‘01 and discovered my dual majors in Forestry and Communications were useless. Thankfully, I discovered a passion for teaching, and built a business out of it.
Norwegians? Well, they don’t need much English teaching, so a move north necessitated branching out into communications consulting. When my clients requested writing, I started a side-line to my main business.
As with many small businesses, the pandemic squashed me. For a while I picked up freelance gigs and then I took the plunge into full-time writing with a Nordic SaaS company. A restructuring opened the door for me to step out of the 9 - 5 job world and back into the flexibility I love.
Work Values
1 Authenticity
Readers can feel when a story is contrived. Stories hit home when they are authentic. As a reader I want authenticity, so I strive to achieve it when I write.
2 Teamwork
A writer is as good as the blog/project brief and those they work with. I will need your help to make this project succeed. I’m an expert with the words, but you’re the expert in your field. The occasional brainstorming session provides opportunities for your experience to power the writing and SEO process.
3 Organization
Almost all the teams I’ve worked with have commented on my organization. Knowing what’s happening when and knowing where to find things gives me the head space to focus and deliver on time.
If you dropped by on a weekend I’d invite you to

As an alternative, tap your foot or clap along while I play the folk harp. Actually, I play professionally and am in several bands, come along to the concert!

Everyone’s a storyteller. A few times a year I’m leading oral storytelling workshops.
